Can I call a plumber while social distancing?

With social distancing guidelines and recommendations still in place, it has become imperative to get all the work done amidst the ongoing pandemic - Covid-19. With everyone staying indoors from the early months of 2020, the only thing you can do to look after the plumbing requirements is to call for plumbing service while taking proper measures and ensuring social distance.

Due to the current situation, it is better if you get plumbers online and decide to make the final call. It will be very convenient for you if you will search for your specific place like a plumber in San Jose and so on. This will also help you visit the chosen plumber’s company website to have a better understanding of the safety measures and precautions being taken by them. Listed below are some of the measures and extra precautions you should follow in order to avoid any medical issues.

    • All the plumbers or technicians that visit your place, wash their hands before, after, and during the work.

    • They wear a fresh pair of gloves after every wash

    • Just like hands, their toolkit and equipments should also be properly cleaned and sanitized

    • Make sure any visiting plumber maintains a strict social distancing with a recommended distance of 1 meter, 1.5 meters, or 2 meters. It seems tough because someone has to stand next to them to explain and point out the problems but you will have to manage while maintaining proper distance.

    • Make sure when the plumber visits your place, the rest of the family members stay as much away from the technicians as possible.

    • Check beforehand with the company or the specific technicians or plumber whether they traveled anywhere outside the city in the last 14 days.

    • It is also suggested that you along with the technicians wear proper gloves, face masks, and also a PPE kit if possible. Because, as always precaution is always better than cure.

    • Also, if you have a travel history in the last 14 days, avoid taking any service until your quarantine is over.

    • Check for any symptoms before calling for any technician in your house and all the family members to ensure there is no negligence on your part for the safety of all.

Apart from all the above-mentioned measures, there is something important you can do on your part to ensure good health and safety for all. Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene at your place to avoid any potential risk of spreading the diseases.

Times are tough and the entire world is struck but this shouldn’t stop you or anyone from doing their duty and tasks. Don’t ignore any plumbing emergency owing to the current situation, instead, take all the necessary precautions and measures for the safety of your family members as well as the technicians or plumbers who visit your place.
